When it comes to chocolate brown hair color there are a large number of preferences. Some prefer light colors, others prefer dark colors. Some people prefer colors that are not found in nature. No matter what the preference there are methods of highlighting, styling, or dying the hair to reach the optimal aesthetic appeal the individual desires. Chocolate brown hair is just one of many colors and despite its beauty, it is no more difficult to maintain or attain than most other colors. However, there are two facts to keep in mind.
Fact 1: Bad Dye Jobs Go Both Ways.
Many people do not realize it when they first color their hair, but it is very possible to have a bad dye experience when taking your hair to a darker, more fabulous place. The horror stories people live through or hear about when lightening their hair are more prevalent, but that does not allow us to discard the bad hair day reality that is a poor dark hair dye job. For instance, an individual with light brown hair, might discover that darkening their color can lead to the existence of dark reddish brown hair. This will not always occur, but it does happen.
Fact 2: When In Doubt Bleach It Out.
It is important to know what your true hair color is before dying it. Your true hair color is determined by checking the color at the roots, not the end-strands of hair. Use semi-permanent and permanent dye that matches this. However, if the color is in doubt, or you wish to be more certain then bleach your hair first. This allows for a uniform color if done properly and there should be no surprises. Alternatively, have a hair dresser do this for you.
